CONCISE CURRICULUM VITAE

Ioanna Benechoutsou was born in Artemisio, Arcadia in 1934 and passed away in Athens in 2002.

 

Attended the 4th public high school for girls in Athens and studied at the NTUA School of Architecture (1952 – 1957).

 

After graduation, she was employed by the architectural office set up specifically for the design and supervision of the Athens Hilton Hotel (1957 – 1963).

 

During the 1960s she worked on a freelance basis  for a  while (1963 – 1964) and as an employee of the Technical Service of the University of Athens (1964 – 1965).

 

From 1966 onwards Ioanna Benechoutsou worked as partner and associate of “Thymio Papayannis and Associates Inc.”, in the Department of Architectural Design.

 

During this period, she designedand supervised as a leadarchitect or as memberof design groups, factories, banks, office and commercial buildings, hotels, tourist facilities, interior design layouts and decorations, etc., both in Greece and internationally.

 

As a freelance designer of houses, special buildings, but also  dealt with Her intense activity for more than forty years its mark on a variety of buildings types.

 

Ioanna Benechoutsou kept strong link with her birthplace. She was an active member of the Cultural Association of Artemisians of Attica (founded in 1978).
