CONCISE CURRICULUM VITAE

Eleni Stavrianaki was born in Heraklion, Crete in 1939.

 

She attended primary school at “Lykeion Korais” in Heraklion and continued her secondary education at the Practical Gymnasium for Girls in Chania, where she graduated in 1957.

From 1957 to 1963 she studied Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her diploma thesis in Urban Planning was on “Planning of the Regional Development of the island of Thassos and a Proposal for the Urban Development of the Port”.

 

 

From 1963 to 1966 she lived in Geneva, where she specialized at postgraduate level in the prefabrication of houses, while at the same time she worked for the company BERIC S.A. for the construction of housing complexes. She was also involved in the design of a complex of 235 prefabricated apartments with a heating centre, a kindergarten and a shopping centre in the CHAMPS MOGIN area, in NYON, and supervised for a year the construction and the required modification studies. For the same company, she has prepared preliminary studies for various complexes.

 

The following year she lived in London, where he studied social housing production.

 

Immediately afterwards she returned to Switzerland, where she worked with the firm BERIC S.A. on preliminary studies, and in 1969 she began working with the firm RENE PARODI for whom she studied the extension of the BEL-AIR psychiatric clinic in Geneva.

 

Between 1969 and 1971 she worked with the professor RAYMON REVERDIN, of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Geneva, as a thesis supervisor in his course. At the same time she was also a partner in his private practice.

 

In 1971 she returned to Greece, where she established an office in Thessaloniki with her husband and architect Yannis Nouli. They specialised in design and supervision. Since 1974 she participated as a consultant in the Real Estate Company NOULI SA, both in studies and in the overall management and supervision of the company’s constructions.

 

In 1987, she started to participate in the company EPIFANEIES WOOD LTD, specialized in wood construction and in the construction of small complexes in Nikiti, Asprovalta and Thessaloniki. She was also involved in the decoration of shops and restaurants.

 

In 1991, she created a technical office with Georgia Gaitanaki – architect-engineer, with main occupation special studies and consulting services.

 

Between 1995 and 1998, she participated in the team SARISSA (studies and supervision of projects for the Thessaloniki’s European Capital of Culture).
