  • Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens.

1967 – 1969

  • Postgraduate studies in Urban Planning at the University College of London, leading to an MPhil degree (Master of Philosophy)

1977 – 1978

  • CERTIFICATE in European Economic Integration at the College of Europe, in Bruges, Belgium.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1964 – 1967

  • Town Planning Department of the Ministry of Public Works – Directorate of Settlements in Greece.

1970 – 1971

  • As an architect-planner in the private company EDOK-ETER

1971 – 1972

  • As a consultant of regional planning in the preparation of the 15-year Development Plan of Greece by the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE).

1972 – 1977

  • “Doxiadis Associates” in projects among others:

  1. Proposals  for the redevelopment  of the KAREA quarry area in Hymettus-Athens (responsible of the study)

  2. Participation in the first phase of the elaboration of the Athens Spatial Plan.

  3. Patmos Master Plan, which includes general proposals for the development of the island, with emphasis on the preservation of the natural and social environment (responsible for the study).

  4. Urban plans of Lusaka, capital of Zambia.

  5. Transfer, for one year {1974) in the Doxiadis office branch in Zambia -a former English colony that was then celebrating 10 years of independence-   for data collection and proposals  for KAFOUE, a new industrial city.

  6. Return to headquarters and participate in the study of Spatial plan and Program of Greece, with the subject: a) the tourism sector at national and regional level, b) the selection of development poles between the urban centres of the country and c) environmental problems.

1978 – 1989

  • Ministry of Coordination, department of Regional Planning, with main tasks to prepare the proposals files for submission, approval and financing by the Regional Development Fund of the EEC.

1982 – 1986

  • Permanent Greek Representation to the EEC, in Brussels, as an expert for the Greek positions on the Environment (Environmental Impact Assessment) and the Mediterranean Integrated Programmes.
